Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
What happens next if I want to attend Enable U2?
If you decide you would like to attend, we will arrange a detailed assessment. This helps us understand individual needs so we can create a personalised support plan before starting.
We will also discuss how support is funded, whether that is through private arrangements, direct payments or local authority funding. If a social worker is involved, we can work with them directly.
Once everything is agreed, we will confirm days, times and a start date – this can usually be arranged within a week or so.
Can I have a taster session before starting?
Yes, we offer taster sessions so you can experience what we do and see if it feels right for you.
These sessions must be arranged in advance and there is no cost. It’s a great opportunity to spend some time with us, meet the team and get a feel for the environment.

Support & Safety
How do you keep people safe?
Keeping people safe is a top priority at Enable U2.
All staff are trained to meet Care Quality Commission standards and receive training in areas such as:
- Safeguarding
- Moving and handling
- Medication administration
- Food and nutrition
We have experienced managers who carry out risk assessments and put appropriate measures in place. Each person has a detailed support plan, and we follow strict policies and procedures to ensure safe and consistent care.
We are also overseen by Lancashire County Council, providing additional monitoring and reassurance.
Safety & Reassurance
Why was Enable U2 created?
Enable U 2 was created after our sister company, Pendle Support, identified a need for more local day services for people with learning disabilities and autism.
There were limited specialist options available in the area, so we developed a service that offers meaningful support, activities and opportunities within the local community.
What is your approach to support?
We believe everyone deserves a safe, engaging and empowering environment where they can be the best version of themselves.
Our approach is inclusive and person-centred, with a strong focus on:
- Dignity and respect
- Building confidence and independence
- Developing skills
- Creating opportunities for social connection
Can I see what you get up to each day?
Yes, we regularly share updates, photos and activities on our social media pages.
Following us is a great way to get a real feel for day-to-day life at Enable U2 and see the wide range of activities we offer.
Choosing the right service feels like a big decision – can you help?
Absolutely. We understand that choosing the right day service is an important decision with lots to consider.
Our team is always here to answer questions, offer guidance and support you before, during and after your visit, helping you feel confident in your choice.
